wake up.

This is the first ever entery to be typed on my new laptop! I'm so excited, huge thanks to Aaron for hooking it up and putting up with all my complaining.... even though he didn't let me throw the old machine out the window...

I got a hug from Aria today, and she said my name, but still not when im around! So gutted. I'm gonna have her on about that when shes older!

I had this revelation last night about a dream I had last year. One part of the dream was set at a camp. It was obviously a Christian camp. I was all of a sudden aware that the enemy is getting close. I went into the dorms to see what everyone was up to. I was supprised, they were all lying around in their pj's, the room an abolute mess. My thought was that these people will be hard to motivate to get up to fight. But it was easy. They wern't ready, but as soon as they realised the prediciment they were up and ready for marching orders.

I believe that the sleepy people represent the majority of the church. They're not asleep and completly oblivious to whats going on, but they're sleepy and unprepared. Those who are fully awake, dressed and involved in the action can get really frustrated with the majority, and find it easy to think that they're no use, but it's actually easy to wake most of the up.

At the time I just applied the dream to prayer. But last night I noticed that this applies to evangelism just as much, if not more. I showed my flatmate the Red Book last night, and we discussed how may Christians have really negative mindsets about evangelism. These mindsets have been formed by lies about evangelism is and isnt. I'll go into more detail in another blog. But when they are shown the lies, and more so whose behind those lies, it breakes down the barriers that stop them from getting out of bed and fighting. I've seen that change in a lot of people over the past 6 months, including myself.

The first part of the dream was about me. I was at an airport in my pj's, my clothes in my bag, planning to get changed as soon as I had checked in. But by the time I had checked in I was too late. This chick turned up with a gun and held everyone hostage. There was more crazy stuff that happedend then I woke up. I literally woke up, and realised that I really need to wake up.. I went back to sleep and had the dream about waking everyone else up.

Since then I've woken up. Especially to the evangelism thing. I had been totally unprepared, and when the enemy came along with weapons I had nothing. Thing is that we have it. God's given us all we need to fight. So what are we doing? Letting the devil win. Yea Jesus has ultimaly won the war, but there are still more fights over human souls that we are called to fight for.

Any thoughts?
