We're gonna party like it's 1999

Here’s something interesting for ya. If I have done my homework correctly then in 1999...

* The vision for the First Wave Army (Life Way) was born, the first intake the following year.
* 24/7 prayer movement started in Cheshester, England
* International House of prayer was started
* The first Get Smart conference was held
* LINK started in Christchurch...
* and I’m sure other stuff happened too...

My point isn't that 1999 was a magical year or anything, but realising all this has challenged the way I look at things.
All these events are things that have since grown to significantly impact NZ, the world and have impacted me personally, and still have heaps more potential to keep doing that.
Around that time there were heaps of prophecies about how God is going to raise up a generation... going to be a huge end time revival... that the nations are going to be impacted... blah blah blah...

Well at least the 'blah blah blah' bit was what I was thinking, and I'm sure others were too. I was sick of hearing all these prophecies and not seeing anything happen. We probably saw like two salvations a year in our youth group. But while I was disillusioned about the whole thing God was busy at work... answering the prayers of many, preparing the ground for things to come. There are of course other reasons why stuff wasn’t happening, like we’re just too comfortable as Christians, but you know what I mean eh.
So I wounder what significant things God is up to now that we will see the fruit of in a few years time.
