Right where you are

Saul had no way of knowing what was coming his way when he set out with his servant to find his fathers donkeys. He had no idea that on his mission he would end up having dinner with Samual, and somehow get anointed as king of Israel.

The furtherest thing from Davids imagination would be that a prophet would come to his house, and have him called in from looking after his fathers sheep, to anoint him as king. The youngest kid in the lowest family in the lowest clan in the lowest tribe. Who would have guessed?

They wern't doing nothing. They wern't sitting around waiting for God to divinly tell them to do something. They wern't put off by their low position. They were serving faithfully where they were, and as far as I can tell from what I read they were doing it with a true servant heart, they were doing it becasue they loved and valued their families.

I know a lot of people at the moment that just don't know what they are sposed to do. And a lot of people that are so eager to do something great for God, but get frustrated that they're not 'released' to do what they feel they should be doing. There is nothing wrong with being in that plave. I've been there, and no doubt I'll be there again as seasons come and go.

But we can learn somthing from David and Saul (before he turned to the dark side). They were simply doing what they were doing well. I don't know if they even had huge dreams for their future, or if they just anticipated doing what they were doing faithfully forever. Either way that should be our attitude.

What church has God put me in? what family should I be serving? Doesn't mean you have to like everything about them, but sincerley serve and love them. God sees that. That may be all He asks of you. Or He may call you to do something great in the eyes of people. Both positions are great in the eyes of our God, especially if we do them well. :+)
