Mary Time

In a culture where Martha dominates, it's important to create space for Mary. Jesus sure likes it when we do!

Yesterday I called in sick, vacumed the house (and cleaned up the cat poo), then sat down with abosolutly no agenda but to spend time chilling with God. I've tried doing this may times before, but Martha usually gets the better of me.

At first it felt wierd, this empty feeling, like when your anticipating a phone call from a boy you like (not in my experience of course!), preparing yourself for the possible dissapointment. But I wasn't dissapointed. I had a real feeling that God the Father was hugging me.

I started reading Job, and it really came alive for me. I really want to get passionate about reading hte Bible, but it's not something that can be conjourd up. The best Bible times are always when I'm chilling with God.

I dunno why it worked last night, when other times I try to make it happen and I get so distracted. May because it was spontaneous. I felt in my spirit that God was drawing me, and I acted on that, rather then getting busy with 'importnat' stuff.
