Been a while...
Yea, a lot has rolled passed since I last sat down to write about it.
I went to Kids Reach confrence a couple of months ago. Good times. Stayed at the Flying Hedgehog in Hamilton, which was ok except the smell of really really fresh paint, and a wake up at 2 in the morning by drunken teenagers who were accidentally given our key!
It was a good time for networking. I met some other children's leaders from the Apostolic movement. And also a few other people about my age who are really switched on, they're totally on the same wave length as me about kids ministry.
Since then I have moved office! Good times. I'm now in Raylenes old office, and I actually have bookshelves! We finally have a stereo in the back conference room, so no more hunting for it on a Sunday morning, and no more skipping halfway through each song. The old one was possessed I tell you. It would work before church, but never during!
And the past week I've been sick, which has actually been quite convenient, because I had the first season on Alias out on DVD, so I had a legitimate reason to stay at home and watch it!
I am totally hooked on Alias. For the past few months I have watched it on Friday nights when I'm home, and I am so intrigued with it. I really wanted to know what happened before this series. So, I went back and got out the first season.
Alias is great, because even though the main character is a girl, the message isn't the feminist "girls can do anything and don't need men". Yea she's amazing, irreplaceable, but she still has moments when she is wrong, when she makes mistakes, and moments when she need the men in her life to fight for her. She's human, and she's venerable, and that's what makes the show so worth watching. It's also fast moving, and from the first 30 seconds of each episode I have questions that need to be answered, so naturally, I get hooked. Now I've just got 4 more seasons to go!
