Kids Camp & Speed Stacks
I went down to Waihola on Saturday to help out with Shoreline's kids camp for the day. It was so cool to get to know a different bunch of kids and some other kids leaders. Yea, I did a bit of clowning, just for 10 minutes though. All day at approxomitly 30 min intervals a light would go on in a kids head and they would say to me "are you the clown?". Funny thing is that it was the older kids who took longer to work it out.
The dark side of my competitive nature was exposed when Anita introduced us to Speed Stacks. I saw these at Kids Reach. They're not available in New Zealand yet but they are real big in Aussie, like national sport kinda big. It's kinda hard to explain, so check out the website.
If you want to see it in action there are some video clips here
Speed Stacks are great for brain development, using both left and right side of the brain, using hand eye co-ordination etc. It's shown to help skills used in sports and music. And it's so much fun, especially if your a little competitive like me.
By the way, Sabrina who is really good at it set the record for the routine we were doing at 7 seconds. I got it down to a stunning 6.63! Twice!!!!
