Apostolic Kids

As for kids ministry in the Apostolic Church... well, there is a lot of room for growth. The Church in Hamilton has got some good stuff going, and I'm sure they do in other places too. I didn't catch up with many other Kids leaders, apart from the Nelson crew and the pastors wife from Rolleston.

We're an "Apostolic" Church, so expect "Apostolic" stuff happen in kids ministry... planting new things, starting new initiatives, all that kinda stuff.

I was reading in Corinthians about Apostles the other week. I'm not sure how I feel about being made a specitacal to the whole universe, and it turns out that Apostles need to have signs, wounders and miricles following them. Hmm. Doesn't sound that easy.

But I know that there is potential for apostolic kids ministries in NZ. Infact, I believe that God would like us to bless the rest of the world though the ministries that we pioneer. A friend from LifeWay that I see at Kids Reach every year said this in response to me commenting on how Australia has bless so many people with their worship music: "Yea, and New Zealand is going to do the same with Kids Ministry". I believe that he has seen something in the Spirit of what God is wanting to do with kids ministry.

By the way, I'm not jsut talking about kids ministry within the Apostolic Movement, because anyone can be 'Apostolic' in function. But I do believe that it is God's mandate for us as a movemnet to be stepping out as true apostles, willing to take the humiliation and rejection, to make the way for others to follow and make the thing grow. And kids ministry is no exception to that.

I dunno what shape it will take yet, but WATCH THIS SPACE! It will cost though.
