An army of little voices...
You have set your glory
above the heavens.
From the lips of children and infants you have ordained praise
because of your enimies,
to silence the foe and the avenger.
Psalm 8:1a-2

Wow this is bigger then I thought! Not only can kids worship God and connect with Him, but God's got a reason for it.
In Matthew 21 after Jesus did His rampage through the temple, and was healing the sick, there were kids in the temple yelling "Hosanna to the Son of David" (v15). The usual sceptics were there complaining to Jesus, and His reply was to quote this Psalm.
My NIV notes say that He appoints and evokes the praise of little children. Why? To silence the enemy. He actually causes them to worship, it's totally natural, and they have a huge purpose and place in the army of God.
We had two salvations at kids church last Sunday! One of these kids was at church on Sunday night with one of our jnr leaders. They came up the front with all the youthies during the worship time, along with another boy from kids chruch who had also became a Christian a few months ago. These kids start to get into it by mimicing the others they see worshiping, but that opens the door for them to make a real connection with God in such a powerful way. It empowers the rest of the church when they see it.
I am so excited about kids and worship at the moment... just incase you hadn't worked it out yet... but it's really growing in our kids program. And I'm really not doing much, just organising the music and getting up the front and worshiping, God is doing the rest!
