National Leadership Conference
It's been really exciting to see the flavour and DNA of the Apostolic Church on a national and international level.
I absolutely love the church I go to here in Duneidn. I'm totally on board with the vision of our leadership and I'm committed to it. But to be able to identify with that on another level has been really good. Our national leaders are awesome. I can see that they are all God fearing, Spirit lead people. Not airy-fairy raving penties, or too dull to ever think that Spirit would actually move today. They are well balanced, very well grounded in the Word. I love it!
Another thing that I totally respect and appreciate is the attitude that we're not setting ourselves apart as more important then any other denomination, or that God’s purposes are going to be completely fulfilled through what we do. Rather that we have a responsibility to be fulfilling the mandate that God has given us specifically as a movement. It was really good hearing that from the leadership level.
It's good to see our DNA like that. Nothing I heard at conference was really new to me, because it's stuff that Pastor Paul and other leaders talk about. They use the same language, comunicate the same purpose, and drink the same coffee. That to me is a sign that we have good leadership: the message from one level is getting transmitted with the same meaning and sound futher down the line.
And I'm not kidding about the coffee thing. I can't imagine that any other denominations having a coffee van outside the venue of their national conference, please correct me if I'm wrong. At every level of leadership (excepty my kids church leaders, they're rebellious) there seems to be a wee addiction to coffee. And get this, they gave out packets of plunger grind coffee to everyone who attended a prayer meeting! Bring it on!
